Learning the main notions and principles from the mechanics of structures in order to successfully approach the technical disciplines in the following semesters. Developing an intuitive understanding of the state of efforts, tensions and deformations of a structural element under external loads. Applying the basic principles of structural mechanics at an elementary level in order to dimension and verify different structural elements.
