Objectives
This course prepares students to achieve C1 level objectives in written and oral comprehension and expression.
Syllabus
-find their way through the logical flow of argumentative texts and be able to spot the clues to the strategies used
-develop the ability to appreciate the stylistic dimension of literary texts
-increase their knowledge of idiomatic vocabulary, particularly pictorial vocabulary
master the grammatical structures of the complex sentence and argumentative connectors in order to write clear, well-constructed opinion pieces
-successfully develop an argument using arguments, examples and rhetorical devices
-improve spelling
-be able to extract important information from a debate whose flow is disrupted by polemical positions being taken
-be able to take part in rapid exchanges in a group discussion or debate, arguing convincingly and responding to questions and counter-arguments with ease and relevance.
