Information Technology Materials (course 2025-26). The course covers the electrical and magnetic properties of materials, the relationship between microstructure, processing and properties, semiconductor materials and devices, optoelectronics, and materials for signal generation, processing, reception and transport. Theory topics include conducting, semiconducting and insulating materials, superconductors, dielectric and magnetic materials, optical properties of materials, materials for lasers and optical fibres. Practical computer sessions use GRANTA EduPack for selecting elements and materials.
