Building Materials 1
181225

Description
The following topics will be covered:
• Building materials and their properties: extraction, production and use of building materials: natural stone, ceramic and mineral-bound building materials, inorganic binders (gypsum, lime, cement), aggregates, metals, wood, plastics, bitumen.
• Building material characteristics and their determination: Exemplary determination of physical
and mechanical properties (modulus of elasticity, stresses, strengths, deformations,
temperature behaviour), forms of presentation of test results Building materials practical training: Experimental investigations and demonstration experiments on the above-mentioned building materials
