Introduction to Mechanical Engineering Design (TEDS semester module I)
BM0978

Description
This course introduces core concepts in mechanical engineering design, equipping students with the foundational
knowledge and practical skills needed for interdisciplinary and international design projects. Key themes include
the engineering design process, technical drawing and visualization, mechanical decision-making, and material
selection with sustainability in focus. Through a mix of lectures, hands-on drawing sessions, case analysis, and
preparatory design work, students develop the competencies to contribute meaningfully to the TED School
mechanical design project. The course also prepares students for further CAD-based modeling and prototyping
tasks.
