Course Program

  • Alloys based on Cu, Al, Mo, Ti, Ni, Sn, Mg, Pb: Phases and Structural Constituents; Phase Diagrams; Heat and Thermomechanical Treatments; main Applications; innovative Steels. 
  • Main Strengthening Mechanisms; Criteria for Selection of Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Alloys.
  • Corrosion: Pourbaix Diagrams and Electrochemical Kinetics; Generalized Corrosion and forms of Localized Corrosion; High-Temperature Oxidation.
  • Crack Propagation Mechanisms under Fatigue; Embrittlement Mechanisms; Hydrogen Embrittlement; Fractographic Analysis using Scanning Electron Microscope.
  • Design and Optimization of a Heat Treatment on Steel Component through Numerical Simulation.
