Description
Course program

The course aims to provide theoretical and methodological foundations necessary to analyze and briefly represent the structure and evolution of the urban and territorial environment. 
A case study applied to an area of ​​Lower Lazio will be employed to to examine the territory at the regional, provincial and urban levels; an area plan will also be developed, analyzing the basic procedures for its sizing. 
The analysis of infrastructural, productive and residential systems, integrated with the environmental system, is aimed at the conservation and recovery of natural, historical and cultural resources of the territory. 
The historical roots of urban and territorial planning: post-industrial society and transformations of the organization and management of territory. 
Tools for territory governance: framework of environmental and territorial governance regulations at national and regional level. 
The levels of planning (from the territorial plan to municipal plans). 
Methods and tools of territorial analysis: technical tools (cartography, information systems, quantitative analyses, sector surveys); urban and territorial analyses (physical-geographic, environmental, socio-economic, settlement systems, etc.); initial information on procedures, contents and graphic documents for the Strategic Environmental Assessment; themes, operational problems and case studies.
