The students work on projects in small groups on changing topics from the field of recycling management and waste technology.
• Possible project focal points include
- Waste management concepts or feasibility studies
- Basic engineering of technical plants (e.g. recycling plants, composting plants, biogas plants)
- Analysis and optimisation of existing plants with regard to material flows and energy consumption
• Essential work steps
- Determination of legislative boundary conditions (e.g. collection and recycling quotas, emission requirements)
- Collection of basic data (e.g. volume and composition as well as forecast of future development)
- Carrying out mass and energy balances
- Determination of costs (investment, operation)
- Preparation of project documentation (text/ report, calculations, plans ...)
