Water Management in Urban Areas 2

Description
Using simple models and spreadsheets, various issues relating to water management in urban areas are dealt with in depth in the form of small graded projects. In addition to traditional issues, current topics relating to the careful and sustainable use of water resources are also addressed, with the aim of raising awareness of innovative, adapted technologies and materials with the aim of using existing water resources in an ecologically and economically sensible manner.
Water supply, e.g.:
- Well, storage tank and pipeline calculations
- Simulation of cisterns
- Network calculations using the cross method
Wastewater treatment, e.g.:
- Special profiles, steep and flat sections
- Calculation of rainwater retention basins and infiltration systems
- Design procedure for spillways
- Time coefficient method
A total of 8-10 smaller projects must be completed independently for the above-mentioned topics.
The projects will be graded individually. To determine the final grade, the two worst results will be removed and an arithmetic mean will be calculated.
