The course is designed to provide an organic and comprehensive foundation of essential knowledge for analyzing and understanding the banking reality within the broader economic framework of the Italian financial system, with pertinent references to the international context. It examines banking institutions and banks' activities from a technical standpoint, focusing on their financial activities and credit operations and also on their available instruments across various functional areas. Particular regard is devoted to organizational and strategic dimensions, including organizational structures and decision-making processes. The course also explores different risk configurations and economic equilibrium conditions, both financial and patrimonial.
A dedicated component addresses the regulatory and supervisory frameworks established by oversight authorities (so called supervision), emphasizing their substantial impact on bank governance and operations.
