The course aims to analyze, from different perspectives, the function and contents of the financial intermediation activity. It is centered initially on the study of the structure and functioning of the system financial understood as the set of intermediaries, markets, instruments and authorities supervision, also in light of the main interrelations with the economic system. On the merits, the analysis then addresses the specificities and prerogtives, as follows institutional and operational profile of the different types of financial institutions present, to subsequently deal with them in a more analytical and in-depth way main reference topics of the banks, with particular regard to various activities carried out, to the risk-asset paradigm and to the conditions of economic, financial and patrimonial balance. A specific aspect of in-depth analysis is finally constituted by the regulation and control over financial system in general and the banking system in particular.
