The aim of the course is to provide understanding and knowledge of economic phenomena through statistics tools. Students will be gradually introduced to the formalism, the terminology, and tools for the knowledge of measurement systems and statistical analysis of the main phenomena of our economic system. The program is divided into two parts. In the first part will be treated the introduction of the statistical tools used in economics and the economic theories that influence the behavioral and decision-making models of economic agents. In the second part will be introduced time series models. At the end of the course, students will be able to quantify the main economic phenomena and compare the most widely used measurement methods also in a historical perspective and international comparison.
