This subject introduces the student to various forms of prototyping. It illustrates the importance of prototypes at the design stage while demonstrating the types and uses of prototypes. Emphasis will be on the production and analysis of prototypes. The aim of this module is to give the student an understanding of the relationship between virtual modelling and the various methods employed in the design and manufacture of prototypes.
3D Modelling
- Design and virtually build parts to allow for the minimum material usage and rapid iteration using prototyping techniques
Reverse Engineering
