The module will educate students in the identification, selection and application of appropriate theoretical concepts in practical design problems. More specifically this problem-oriented approach facilitates the development of the analytical, visualization and presentation skills necessary to solve and communicate engineering design problems.
This module will serve to:
A. Engage students in directed and self-directed learning using problem solving and team based projects,
B. Develop the students’ capacity to use mathematical, verbal, visual and computer communications tools and skills in the presentation of solutions to problems,
C. Support the development of the student as a professional engineer and develop their awareness and use of skills in social and ethical contexts as well as in the use of standards in engineering projects.
Projects will involve students working in groups to collaboratively and methodically develop and implement solutions to real engineering problems.
