The course will give students a methodological basis from which, starting from the fundamental topics of classical mechanics and electromagnetism, they may begin to master the scientific method that is at the very basis of the disciplines that shape future engineers. The students are expected to know the elements of basic mathematics of the Mathematical Analysis course of the preceding semester; additional mathematical and calculation tools will be introduced in the course. The part of the course dedicated to numerical and theoretical exercises are an integral part of the program. Technical applications are left to be treated in specialist courses.
