Unit 2. PATHOLOGY AND TECHNIQUES OF INTERVENTION IN STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS.

- Generalities Most frequent pathologies and diagnosis.
- Interpretation of fissurative frames.
- Recalce of superficial and deep foundations.
- Methods of consolidation of the land.
- Brick load-bearing walls. Arches, vaults and domes.
- Forged in historical buildings.

Unit 3. PATHOLOGY AND TECHNIQUES OF INTERVENTION IN WOOD ELEMENTS.

- Characteristics of wood in historical buildings.
- Analysis of wood pathologies and their diagnosis.
- Intervention techniques in wooden elements: Healing and preventive treatments of wood. Forged and covered with wood in historical constructions. Wood paneling.

Unit 4. HUMIDITY IN BUILDING. ANALYSIS AND INTERVENTION TECHNIQUES.

- The presence of humidity in the building: Direct or indirect rain (splashing). Condensation in interiors. Break of facilities. Humidity by capillary ascension. Flat and inclined roofs.
- Techniques for the treatment of damp in historic buildings: Walls with ventilation chamber and grilles. Sanitary floor (caviti-type casettes, igloo ...). External ventilation ditch with drainage. Draining mortar and breathable paint (pliolite base resin). Aeration of walls. Chemical barrier by injection of special water repellents. Electro-osmosis active.
