Mathematics I - IE
BIEe01

Description
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE: Basic knowledge of differential and integral calculus of a function of one real variable and its applications is considered because they are basic in Mathematics II and III, physics and their applications in all engineering disciplines. At the end of the course, the students are expected to be able to manipulate with complex numbers and polynomials, to investigate a function of a real variable, to compute some types of definite and indefinite integrals.
DESCRIPTION OF THE COURSE: The main topics concern some basic algebraic, exponential, logarithmic and trigonometric equations, inequalities and systems; complex numbers; functions of one real variable, limit, continuity and derivatives of such functions; basic theorems of differential calculus; introduction to integral calculus and some methods for calculating indefinite, definite and improper integrals, as well their applications.
