Mantenance and Management of Hydraulic Works in Urban Areas

Description
Objectives 
The aim of the course is to provide the knowledge and skills for the design, management and maintenance of water systems for hydraulic protection in urban areas along with the application of optimal rehabilitation strategies for extant infrastructure. The course comprises theory and practical exercises, supported by the application of relevant computer software tools. 

Course program 
  • Water works design phases; 
  • problem solving in building site; 
  • Technical Laws for public works; 
  • Analysis of flow in water distribution networks; 
  • Epanet software application; 
  • leak detection in water distribution systems; 
  • water distribution systems management/design optimization methods; 
  • rehabilitation methods for hydraulic networks; 
  • cost/reliability analysis; 
  • Sewer Systems; 
  • SWMM software application; 
  • Pumping stations; 
  • water hammer attenuation organs; 
  • optimal irrigation techniques.
