Environmental Hydraulics
90883

Description
Objectives
The course aims to provide the contents needed for the understanding of environmental phenomena

Course program
Flow regimes in complex sections: variable roughness section, embanked section. Supplementary topics on steady flow velocity profiles: flow over a weir, flow through a planimetric contraction, channel venturi meter, variable discharge velocity profiles (gutters and lateral spillways), non-cylindrical channels. Soluted transport. Solid transport. Velocity profiles in the cross-section of a flow: logarithmic law, wake law. Hydraulic models: laws of similarity, partial similarities, Reynolds similarity, Froude similarity. Groundwater flow.
