Description
Objectives
The course aims to provide the contents needed for the design of hydraulic structures.

Course program
  • Stage-Discharge relation in open channels: section with variable roughness, compound channels.
  • Steady state in open channels: non-cylindrical channeles, sideweirs, Venturi channels.
  • Unsteady flow in pipes : Allievi equations, characteristics method, pipeline systems.
  • Velocity profiles: logarithmic law, the law of the wake.
  • The models of hydraulics : similarity laws, partial similarities, Reynolds models, Froude models. Groundwater flows.
