Objectives
The course aims to provide the contents needed for the design of hydraulic structures.
Course program
Stage-Discharge relation in open channels: section with variable roughness, compound channels. Steady state in open channels: non-cylindrical channeles, sideweirs, Venturi channels. Unsteady flow in pipes : Allievi equations, characteristics method , pipeline systems . Velocity profiles: logarithmic law , the law of the wake. The models of hydraulics : similarity laws , partial similarities, Reynolds models, Froude models. Groundwater flows.
