Training objectives The module aims to illustrate the introductory principles to the processing of metallic materials, to present the technological properties of the materials themselves, to illustrate the fundamental phases of mechanical manufacturing. The main conventional mechanical production technologies are described and the tools are provided to define the processing cycle of mechanical elements manufactured by machining by chip removal. Expected learning outcomes Knowledge: Knowledge of the main manufacturing processes of metallic materials. Knowledge of machines, tools and equipment. Skills: ability to read, analyze and plan a traditional manufacturing process of a piece of metallic material starting from the drawing of the rough and finished parts.
