Mechanical Vibrations
MEM_428

Description
The course will examine single and multiple degree of freedom lumped parameter systems subjected to harmonic and transient excitation. Analytical methods in vibration analysis will be covered. Emphasis will be placed on modeling of mechanical engineering systems, correlation of physical parameters with the coefficients of the pertinent differential equations, and the concepts of natural frequency, damping and resonance. Vibrations of rotating machinery and vibration monitoring and control in industrial applications will also be examined.
