Management of Telecommunications Projects

Description
The study course focuses on the various phases of the development and management of telecommunications projects actual to the sector of information and communication technologies (ICT) - ranging from the idea and its competitiveness, identification of the potential market, fundraising aspects, research and development (R&D) of the technology, product or service created under the telecommunications project, questions regarding the implementation issues and technology readiness levels, the importance of the protection of technology intellectual property rights (IPR), standardization, until the targeted management and assurance of the project sustainability.

Course contents:
  • Introduction. Definition of a new product and technology. Technology readiness levels (TRL).
  • Identifying the market for telecommunications technologies. Funding mechanisms for technology research and introduction of new technologies. Basic principles of telecommunications projects management.
  • Structure of the telecommunications project. Key stages of technology research and development. Structure of the research and development (R&D) team. Competence, interdisciplinarity, and synergy.
  • Qualitative indicators of telecommunication project applications (proposals) – excellence, impact, and implementation.
  • The interaction of telecommunication technology developers with the public. Communication with public and needs, interaction. Risk management.
  • Technology validation, deployment, and certification. Compliance with standards.
  • Protection of intellectual property rights and their transfer. Licensing and patenting aspects. Aspects of sustainability.
  • Practical works in the development of an application (proposal) of a telecommunications project.
