APPLIED THERMODYNAMICS
508102004

Description
At the end of the subject "Applied Thermodynamics" the student should be able to:
1. Apply the principles of thermodynamics to the calculation of the performance of real systems in closed and open systems.
2. Calculate the thermodynamic properties of the different fluids used in thermal engineering, with the help of tables, diagrams and computer programs.
3. Describe the different types of open systems, their function and their application in thermodynamic cycles.
4. Analyse the operation of refrigeration and heat pump systems, identifying the components, as well as the cycles used to obtain high performance.
5. Analyse the operation of air conditioning systems and their application in industry, as well as combustion processes, applying an energy balance to a reactive system.
6. Design small energy installations, using computer calculation programmes with a professional profile, working in a team and writing a technical report which will also be presented orally.
