Description
The Environment, Services and Materials III module introduces the learner to more advanced passive design principles in relation to the design of larger buildings and to groups of buildings. It aims to situate environmental concerns, responses and approaches as generators of pragmatic and resilient architectural design. It includes holistic low energy strategies for larger scale mixed buildings in the town and city context. . It integrates the typical and emerging materials and services into sustainable building approaches. It provides the learner with the necessary knowledge and understanding of environment, services and materials to inform the development of Architectural Design Studio 3 studio projects. It comprise three related components; Environment, Services and Materials
The aim of the Environment Services and Materials V module is to encourage the learner to appreciate the complexities, interdependencies and opportunities of sustainable design, with particular reference to design of larger buildings. The module aims to enable the learner to integrate environmental strategy, services (structure) materials and assembly into their designs.
