Mastering the concepts of thermodynamics and heat transfer
Applying these concepts to thermodynamic machines and thermal problems (fluids or solids)
Program:
- Knowing how to model energy exchanges, phase changes, and transformations in open or closed systems
- Understanding the principles of thermodynamics, the first and second laws
- Being able to apply them to thermodynamic cycles to calculate efficiencies, COP, and effectiveness
- Knowing how to implement continuum thermodynamics, particularly the different modes of heat transfer (conduction, convection, radiation)
- Being able to apply them to thermal engines, turbines, heat transfer machines, and heat exchangers
