Transformation and utilisation of electric energy
EN08

Description
Objectives:
Electrical technologies are essential to modern society. The course covers various technologies for producing and converting electricity from different energy sources (hydraulic, wind, solar, nuclear). The problems of transporting and storing energy are also addressed.

Learning Outcomes:
(1) Know the working principle and the implementation of different electric actuators (motor and generator modes)
(2) Be able to develop an electronic chain to support energy conversion via static converters (power electronics)
(3) Know the problems of energy transport and storage (batteries, hydrogen)
(4) Have knowledge of speed variation and regulation of electric actuators
(5) Be aware of electrical hazards
