At the end of the training program, the student must be able to:
Distinguish between the different devices and blocks that make up an optical communications system.
Efficiently use photonic transmitter-fiber-receiver equipment in order to obtain typical operating parameters, both of optical emitters and receivers, and of the corresponding optical fibers.
Resolve different issues related to an optical communications link through existing computer simulators for this purpose.
Solve various types of theoretical-practical problems related to the different blocks of a photonic system.
Identify the correct conclusions derived from said resolution.
Basic concepts related to the transmission of signals in an optical communications system. Study of the main blocks that constitute said system: optical transmitter, optical fiber and optical receiver. Familiarization with photonic equipment and computer tools for the analysis of optical communications systems.
