Integrated Design for Civil Engineers & Surveying and Geoinformatics Engineers II
CIV_281

Description
The purpose of the course is to train students in integrating the knowledge and skills they have acquired in various disciplines and in understanding and utilizing the tools necessary to solve Civil Engineering and Geoinformatics problems.

The various learning methods used in the course aim to enable students to develop a significant level of understanding of the appropriate tools as well as the development of relevant skills necessary to work effectively within a professional environment in Civil Engineering and Geoinformatics problem-solving by building on the learning outcomes of the coourse CIV 181 (Integrated Design I).

Upon successful completion of the course students are expected to be able to develop a significant level of understanding of appropriate tools as well as the development of relevant skills necessary to work effectively in a professional environment in Civil Engineering and Geoinformatics problem-solving.

Through lectures and various other learning methods used in the course, students will develop knowledge integration skills from other disciplines, better teamwork skills, knowledge of problem-solving methodology and the modeling principles of engineering problems and develop leadership and communication skills. Students will also be able to prepare a portfolio for an important teamwork project assigned to them. Through more complex teamwork projects requiring teamwork as well as communication and coordination with other teams for the design of a complex project, they are expected to develop their skills and knowledge in designing and solving problems in engineering at a more advanced level.
