Mathematics I
CIV_115

Description
The aim of the course is for students to acquire fundamental knowledge of functions and infinite calculus. Upon successful completion of the course students are expected to be able to:
1. know the behavior of the key functions of a variable (scope and values, graph, inverse function, properties)
2. understand the concept of boundary and continuity / discontinuity functions, and calculate function boundaries by different methods
3. can calculate and use the derivative to study problems of monotonicity function, maximum-minimum, qualitative function analysis and its graphical, numerical solution of algebraic equations
4. understand the concept of dynamics, and be able to calculate and apply the dynamics of simple functions to simple problems with analytic or numerical problems
5. understand the numerical and geometric concept of integration and be able to identify when applicable / required, and apply integration methods to analytical and geometric problems
