Phasor diagrams.

UNIT 2. POWER. THREE PHASE SYSTEMS.
Power of a single-phase system.
Three-phase systems: Relationship between voltages and currents in line and in phase.
Power in three-phase systems. Active, Reactive and Apparent.
Reactive Energy Compensation. Calculation of the reactive power to compensate.

UNIT 3. ELECTRICAL MACHINES.
Transformers: The ideal and real transformer.
Tests on the transformer. Equivalent circuits.
Three-phase transformers.
Rotating Electric Machines: Definitions, types and construction aspects.
Basic principles of the alternating current electric machine.
Asynchronous Machines. Torque on asynchronous machines. Asynchronous motors start.
