The Terminology Minimum in English

Description
 The study course provides the study and consolidation of professional lexis, the development of professional language skills, the practical application of terminology in written and oral speech. Students have to acquire special terminology, specifics of grammatical constructions characteristic of technical literature in the relevant special field. Course contents:
  • Different texts in special field, terminology exercises, Discussion based on the texts. 
  • Terminology exercises, work with text (summary, commentary, lexical exercises, discussions.
  • Work with terminological databases. 
  • Glossary, thesaurus, ontology: types, structure, layout.
  • Terminology standardization. ISO standards.
  • Compilation and presentation of professional glossary. 
  • Tests: terminology exercises, text analysis (summary, commentary, lexical exercises).
