Residual stress engineering
IC02

Description
Objectives :
Consider residual stresses when developing materials and structures, know the  associated experimental characterization techniques and understand their effects on  the in-service behaviour of technological components.

Program description :
-origin and mechanism of residual stress formation
-effects of residual stresses on materials and structures
-experimental characterization techniques
-processes to generate favourable stress states (shot blasting, SMAT, laser shock,  etc.)
