Aim and purpose of wastewater treatment, history, water cycle, legal situation, social significance
Waste water technical parameters (waste water quantities, contents, pollution loads) Waste water treatment in waste water treatment plants: process and simple dimensioning
- Mechanical wastewater treatment (rake, grit chamber, primary sedimentation, flotation)
- Basics of biological wastewater treatment (growth, kinetics)
- Purification processes for nitrogen (nitrification, denitrification)
- Phosphorus purification processes (Bio-P and precipitation)
- Trickling filter method, immersed disk method (dimensioning according to ATV-DVWK A 281)
- Activation method, simplified design (parts according to DWA-A 131/2016)
- near-natural methods (wastewater ponds according to DWA-A 201), planted filters (DWA-A 262)
- Basics of sludge treatment (thickening, digestion, dewatering) Laboratory exercises on a laboratory sewage treatment plant / assessment of the plant
