Anaerobic Digestion: Potential for anaerobic digestion in Ireland; Microbial Physiology; Bio-processing(Feedstock for Anaerobic Digestion, Media, Systems, Downstream Processing, Regulation and safety); Scale Process Evaluation(Laboratory work); Scale-up issues; Examination of the literature.
Biodiesel (Transesterification): Feedstock for Biodiesel production, Vegetable Oil and Algae Oil; Scale Process Evaluation.
Biomass: The Biomass market in Ireland; Efficient utilisation of Biomass as a source of energy – Gasification.
Data acquisition and analysis concepts: The use of electronic systems for data acquisition. Appropriate techniques for the analysis of data and large datasets.
