Course Program

  • Introduction to Smart Energy and the Digitalization of the Energy Sector:
    Exploration of the Smart Energy concept and the importance of digitalization in the energy sector, with practical application examples.
  • European Regulations and Incentives:
    In-depth study of European directives and incentives promoting the adoption of smart energy metering systems, including key standards and certifications.
  • Professional Roles in the Energy Sector:
    Overview of key professional roles in the energy field (Energy Manager, Certified Energy Expert - EGE, Energy Auditor, ESCO), with a focus on their responsibilities and required competencies.
  • Energy Certifications:
    Analysis of energy certifications, such as White Certificates, APE (Energy Performance Certificate), AQE (Certificate of Building Suitability), and Energy Audits, and their role in energy efficiency and emission reduction.
  • Smart Monitoring:
     Study of the Smart Monitoring concept and its benefits, with a focus on European Commission recommendations, technological advancements in Italy, and commercial technologies.
  • Smart Meters:
    In-depth study of smart meters, covering technical and functional characteristics, EU regulations, and hands-on exercises involving dashboard development, system integration, load profiling, and machine learning applications.
  • Electrical Signature (Load Signature Analysis):
    Exploration of electrical signature concepts, analysis tools (such as FFT – Fast Fourier Transform), and applications in predictive diagnostics and power quality management, including practical exercises.
  • Visual Inspection of Electrical Installations:
    • Analysis and verification of electrical schematics;
    • Assessment of the consistency and functionality of implemented systems and devices;
    • Inspection of enclosures, insulation, and protection ratings;
    • Verification of cable routes and conduit dimensions;
    • Inspection of special installations.

  • Protection Measures Against Direct and Indirect Contact:
    • Assessment of protective device presence and adequacy;
    • Verification of earthing systems;
    • Evaluation of cable cross-sections;
    • Assessment of safety measures in high-risk environments.

  • Control Calculations:
    • Coordination checks between operating currents, cable ratings, and protective devices;
    • Voltage drop verification;
    • Evaluation of electrical switchboards.

  • Experimental Testing:
    • Continuity and insulation tests;
    • Differential circuit breaker trip testing;
    • Ground resistance measurement;
