Analysis of the current energy system (consumption, available energy sources, employed technologies).

Thermal Design of Thermomechanical Energy Conversion Systems

  • Steam Turbine Plants: Thermal design and performance optimization criteria; evolution, development prospects, and application fields.
  • Gas Turbine Plants: Thermal design and performance optimization criteria; evolution and development prospects of industrial and aeronautical gas turbines.
  • Combined Gas-Steam Cycle Plants: Criteria and methodologies for thermal system design; development prospects and application fields.

Energy Saving

  • Cogeneration and Energy Recovery: Operating principles, evaluation indices, PES (Primary Energy Saving), plant configurations, and control schemes.

Innovative Technologies with Low Environmental Impact

  • Overview of polygeneration systems (electricity, heat, synthetic fuels).
