Course Program
The module is structured into four main thematic sections:
1. Principles and Calculation of Structural Elements:
- Analysis and Design of Flat and Curved Plates;
- Calculation and Design of Disc Springs.
2. Practical Rules for Correct Design:
- Analysis and Application of Practical Rules to Improve the Efficiency, Robustness, and Ease of Assembly of Mechanical Structures;
- Particular Focus on Optimization Criteria for Cross-sections, Stress Reduction, Assembly Techniques, and Replacement of Elements.
3. Design According to Legal Standards:
- Sizing and Verification of Pipes and Pressure Vessels according to the ASME BPVC code;
- Use of PV Elite software for Structural Analysis and Verification of Pressure Components.
4. Reliability and Probabilistic Design:
- Concepts of Reliability in Mechanical Design;
- Design Techniques based on Probabilistic Analysis.
