Description
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE: The general aim of this course is to make students familiar with the mechanical, electrical and logical structure and organization of the peripheral devices (printers, plotters, HDDs, CDs, DVDs, copiers, etc.) as a part of the state-of-the-art computer systems as well as with the information media carriers applied.
DESCRIPTION OF THE COURSE: The following topics are included in the course content: physical presentation of information over different physical carriers, mechanical and electromechanical systems in computer periphery devices, organization of write/read operations in hard disk devices - stepper and electrodynamic systems for positioning of magnetic heads, optical discs based memories - principle of operation of the laser reading head positioning system, organization of printers operation - impact dot matrix, inkjet, laser - principle of operation, scheme of the paper feeding system, scheme of transfer belts for image transfer; organisation of copy machine operation - optical system for scanning originals for copying, principle of operation of module for automatic feeding of originals for copying, principle of operation of module for double-sided copying.
