• Waste water treatment processes and their dimensioning according to regulations 
- Mechanical-physical processes (flotation, sedimentation, filtration) 
- Chemical-physical processes (neutralisation, oxidation, adsorption and reduction of micropollutants) 
- Biological processes (activated sludge process (dimensioning according to A131), SBR process, MBR process) 
Sludge treatment process 
- Aerobic and Anaerobic Sludge Stabilisation 
- Drainage 
- Backloading, deamonification of sludge water 
- Sludge disposal and recycling

• Energy demand and energy check of wastewater treatment plants (DWA-A 216)

• Measurement, control, regulation and preparation of specifications for wastewater treatment plants

• Laboratory exercises and excursions to (industrial) wastewater treatment plants
