The course covers the fundamentals of commercial transport, its origins and operations, as well as its significance for the economy, society and the environment (types of commercial transport,
the relationship between the economy and transport, the fundamentals of transport logistics, statistics and surveys on commercial transport, trends and drivers, the significance of commercial transport for society, the environment and urban and transport planning, measures to influence commercial transport). Using a specific project as a basis, students will explore selected topics in-depth through independent study and develop, discuss and present their own proposed solutions. Field trip to a company, logistics hub or similar location.
