Based on a theoretical background to be discussed and a case study presented in the course, the entire spectrum of digital project work in construction projects will be covered:
- Visualisation of digital and/or digitised building data beyond the 3D spatial model (keyword: digital twin; 4D or 5D modelling)
- Integration, extension and analysis of models via a central location (keywords: CDE | common data environment and single source of truth)
- Checking and ensuring data quality using rule-based and interactive model checks (keywords: plausibility and clash detection)
- Linking model data from different specialist models or other data sources (e.g. from spreadsheets; creation of semantic relationships on an ontological basis)
- Collaboration in a digital working environment using appropriate software applications and data formats (keywords: ifc and bcf formats, applications e.g. Desite® or BIM360®)
- Networking of workflows and digital implementation of typical activities from construction project management (keyword: BIM use cases from cost, schedule and quality standards control)
- Further use of model data in the context of building operation
As part of the presentation of the case study, students are required to contribute their own work, in which the above-mentioned content is made tangible (part of the performance assessment).
