Course program
The course combines a rigorous theoretical approach with the discussion of cases, simulations and exercises that enable students to gain a solid understanding of the complexities of modern organizations, with a particular emphasis on the specificities of organizations operating in an international context. These are the main topics that will be addressed during the module:
  • differentiation, integration, centralization, standardization, authority and control; typologies and properties of basic organizational structures;
  • international firms models; 
  • coordination models and mechanisms; 
  • management of human work and practices;
  • social networks properties and influence;
  • social network analysis (including basics of UCINET and/or Gephi); 
  • conflict resolution and alignment of individual interests; management of power structures;
  • organizational culture;
  • the role of national culture;
  • organizational change.
