Microwave Devices & Equipment
DE0222

Description
The study course is a fundamental course, upon completion of which students will acquire the knowledge and understanding of workings of passive microwave devices, calculations of their parameters, design and application in modern electronic technologies: 5G systems, medicine, etc. The study course views basic techniques of microwave system analysis and will be given an overview of the possible practical employment of such devices. The study course covers many practically significant topics including wave propagation in anisotropic media and metamaterials, as well as the use of properties of wave propagation in such media in the design of microwave devices. Principles of wireless power transfer and time domain reflectometry are also covered in the study course and an overview of active microwave devices, their parameters and use are given, as well.
The use of MATLAB software and electromagnetic field modelling software is demonstrated in the laboratory..
