Description
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE: At the end of the course the students are expected to know and be able to apply the approaches, methods and means for geometric modeling and presentation of two-dimensional and three-dimensional graphic objects, for rendering photorealistic images and animations, for creating and using interactive graphic applications.
DESCRIPTION OF THE COURSE: Main topics: Overview of computer graphics; Two dimensional geometric primitives, two-dimensional transformations; Two dimensional viewing pipeline; Rasterization and scan conversion algorithms; Three dimensional geometric transformations; Projective transformation; Visualization of three dimensional scenes; Visible surfaces and algorithms for hidden surface removal; Geometric modeling of three dimensional objects and scenes; Illumination in computer graphics, shading models; Ray tracing algorithm for image rendering; Texturing in computer graphics; Animation in computer graphics.
