Water Supply Networks II
CIV_447

Description
The main objective of the course is to provide the basic knowledge for designing land improvement projects in the context of water resources management.

1. Watersheds. Flow parameters. Basic runoff rainfall relationships. Hydrological methods of flooding. Muskingum method.

2. Flood frequency analysis. Concepts of risk and credibility. Risk analysis - binomial and Poisson distribution.

3. Dams. Characteristics and types of dams. Water balance of the reservoir. Reservoir operating rules. Estimating the useful capacity of a multi-function reservoir. Critical period methods. Method of successive maxima. Low flow methods.

4. Land irrigation methods, surface irrigation, sprinkler irrigation, self-propelled sprinkler irrigation and micro irrigation. Application networks and irrigation water transport networks. Hydraulic calculations of the irrigation unit. Network operating settings, control units, pipes and application components.
