Description
The course aims to provide students with the theoretical and practical background related to understanding the elements of the Transport Systems, as well as the methods of calculating the individual factors that will assist them in the proper planning of the Transport Systems. 

 Introduction to Transportation Planning 
The planning process in transport 
Basic concepts Data sampling Stages, correlation with the process of planning and constructing transportation projects Basic concepts in model design and control Theoretical bases and practical calculations for the four stages of trip forecasting - examples, exercises 
a) Trip Generation 
b) Trip Distribution 
c) Modal Split
d) Trip Assignment Critical review of the classic process of trip forecasting Presentation of disaggregate forecasting models Examples - presentation of specific transport planning studies.
