Smart management of Infrastructures using sensors
CIV_328

Description

The course aims to provide students with fundamental knowledge of the basic characteristics and parameters of sensors, and how they can be used in structural health monitoring to evaluate the structural behavior and condition of an infrastructure.
The aim is also to provide basic knowledge of infrastructure management with a focus on decision making.

The course will provide an overview of the use of modern sensor technology in infrastructure management. Smart infrastructures are designed to adapt to changing environmental conditions. The course will provide students with the opportunity to learn about the use and utilization of sensors and to study the basic concepts related to sensors, data processing and infrastructure inspection/ monitoring. Students will also have the opportunity to experiment with the selection and use of sensors in structures, real-time data collection and data management and processing.
