Roads and Bridges

Description
The course includes the general road engineering issues and the main design aspects of bridges. It deals with road construction materials, technologies and specific of their use in design solutions. The course provides basic knowledge of the road alignment, longitudinal section and the main structural design principles and methods. It deals with the selection of the bridge structural system, the main dimensions of structural elements, the structural material, and the construction technique and design criteria. The bridge design methods are based on Eurocodes.
