Part 1 of the study course is based on theoretical knowledge. The content of this part explains the direction of geomatics, with an emphasis on geodesy - the science of the size, shape and parameters of the Earth, the formation of Earth-related coordinate systems and the formation of cartographic images of the Earth at different scales. Geodesy covers a wide range of practical applications - construction, cartography, geophysics, photogrammetry, remote sensing, etc. spheres of science. The practical side of geodesy includes technical and high-precision measurements, their analytical processing and analysis of results.
Part 2 of the study course is based on the acquired theoretical knowledge about the basic principles of geodesy, types of measurements and their application areas. To achieve the task of practical work, the skills acquired in the laboratory work and the instructions of the lecturers, are used. The practicum covers a wide range of application - geodetic network creating and/or surveying; construction axis marking in building construction; linear building surveying or construction axis marking in the area; engineering communication network inspection and surveying, passport preparation for wells; drawing up a topographical plan or relief plan. Geodesy practice can include both technical and high-precision measurements, their analytical processing and analysis of results.
